A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a high-performing engineering team within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.

This is a great role for an engineer who enjoys getting stuck into both reactive and planned maintenance, thrives in a continuous improvement culture, and wants to work on modern processing and packaging equipment in a clean, regulated production setting.

The Role

You'll be responsible for keeping production running efficiently and safely through a mix of reactive and preventative maintenance. Working across a range of mechanical and electrical systems, you'll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting ongoing site improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production and packaging equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and completing effective root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Supporting installation, modification and upgrade of machinery and equipment
  • Working on utilities and site services including boilers, chilled water and compressed air systems
  • Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency projects alongside production teams
  • Ensuring all work is completed to high standards of hygiene, safety and GMP
  • Completing accurate maintenance records and risk assessments prior to work

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical engineering background (essential)
  • Multi-skilled capability with some electrical knowledge (17th/18th Edition or equivalent desirable)
  • Experience within FMCG, food, drink or other fast-paced manufacturing environments (preferred but not essential)
  • Welding/fabrication skills would be a strong advantage
  • Confident fault-finder with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail around safety and compliance
