Nights Production Setter

Accrington 

4 on - 4 off  (6pm-6am)

 

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Setter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating machinery, particularly in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. The Setter will be responsible for preparing and setting up equipment for production processes, ensuring that all specifications are met for quality and efficiency.

Duties

  • Ensure all working procedures are followed and that all paperwork is completed
  • Ensure a clean work area and maintain the housekeeping standard
  • Set machine and processing equipment to specification
  • Use the product flow chart to optimize the products running
  • Use the moulding concern procedure when necessary
  • Set and load mould tools and dies to machines and processing equipment using SMED
  • Adjusting machine settings to maintain process to specification
  • Carry out Process monitoring checks using Statistical Process Control techniques
  • Analyse and implement process improvement solutions
  • Working in development teams to introduce new materials, products or process technology
  • Adhere to quality control procedures within this area
  • Maintain a clean, safe working area at all times
  • Ensure scrap is removed by the correct method / procedure
  • Adhere to equipment safety procedure and safe method of work
  • Adhere to mandatory PPE requirements at all times.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Analytical & diagnostic
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Able to work in teams
  • Good communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Knowledge of the properties and processing of polymer materials
  • Good mechanical and engineering knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Familiar with analytical/diagnostic tools SPC, FMEA, SMED
  • Health and Safety issues and Codes of practice relevant to the industry

S/NVQ in Polymer Processing and Related Operations L2 OR
S/NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations L2 OR
S/NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations L2 OR
Engineering Apprenticeship to include a L2 S/NVQ (e.g. Materials Processing and Finishing) and a L2 'Technical Certificate' (e.g. Progression Award in Production Engineering: Composites) AND Related Job Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shift
  • Night shift
