A well-established specialist SEN school in Wembley is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join its experienced clinical team. The school supports pupils aged 4-19 with a wide range of complex needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech, language and communication needs, sensory processing differences and associated physical, emotional and developmental needs. Many pupils have complex EHCPs and require highly personalised therapeutic support to access education successfully.

Working alongside Speech & Language Therapists, teachers, support staff, Educational Psychologists and families, you will deliver a holistic Occupational Therapy service that promotes independence, functional life skills, sensory regulation and meaningful participation in school life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for pupils with complex developmental, sensory and functional needs.
• Designing and delivering individual therapy programmes linked to EHCP outcomes.
• Supporting pupils with sensory processing, self-regulation, fine and gross motor development, handwriting, functional independence and activities of daily living.
• Assessing postural, environmental and equipment needs, making recommendations to maximise pupil access and participation.
• Delivering both individual and small-group therapy sessions across classrooms and specialist learning environments.
• Developing sensory diets, regulation strategies and classroom adaptations that enable pupils to engage successfully throughout the school day.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies into daily practice.
• Providing advice, coaching and training to staff and families to ensure consistent implementation of Occupational Therapy programmes.
• Monitoring pupil progress through evidence-based assessment and adapting interventions where required.
• Contributing to annual EHCP reviews, multidisciplinary meetings and wider clinical planning.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Is HCPC registered and a member of RCOT (or equivalent).
• Has experience working with children or young people with Autism and/or complex learning disabilities.
• Has a strong understanding of sensory integration, functional skills and person-centred therapeutic practice.
• Is confident working with pupils who present with a range of communication, sensory and developmental needs.
• Enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Has excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
• Is passionate about enabling children and young people to achieve greater independence and reach their full potential.
