An exceptional opportunity is available for an outstanding Oxford or Cambridge graduate to join a highly ambitious secondary school in Ealing as an Academic Mentor. This role is specifically designed to attract individuals with elite academic backgrounds who are considering a future in teaching and want to gain meaningful, high-impact experience before progressing into a fully supported teacher training pathway.

About the School

This is a forward-thinking, high-expectation secondary school that is rapidly gaining recognition for its academic ambition and transformational outcomes. With a culture rooted in scholarship, discipline, and aspiration, the school is committed to ensuring students — regardless of background — can access top university destinations, including Oxbridge.

The leadership team is exceptional, combining vision with a deep commitment to staff development. Graduates who join the school are not just supported — they are strategically developed into future educators and leaders.

With a strong emphasis on academic rigour and enrichment, the school provides an environment where both students and staff are encouraged to think deeply, work hard, and achieve exceptionally.

The Role

As an Oxbridge Graduate Academic Mentor, you will:

  • Provide high-level academic support across your subject specialism
  • Work closely with high-attaining students, including those targeting Oxbridge and Russell Group universities
  • Deliver stretch and challenge interventions, including essay support, problem-solving sessions, and exam preparation
  • Act as a role model of academic excellence, inspiring students through your own educational journey
  • Support teaching staff while developing your own classroom practice

This is a role with real substance — you will be expected to engage intellectually, contribute meaningfully, and play a key role in raising academic standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • A First-Class or strong 2:1 degree from Oxford or Cambridge
  • Exceptional subject knowledge and academic track record
  • A genuine passion for education and widening access to top universities
  • Confidence, professionalism, and strong communication skills
  • A clear desire to progress into teaching

Why This Role Stands Apart

  • Work in a school that values academic excellence at the highest level
  • Direct pathway into teacher training with the school the following academic year
  • Opportunity to mentor top-performing students aiming for elite universities
  • Competitive salary of £25,000+ or £111 per day
  • Join a cohort of high-calibre graduates in a culture of ambition and success

This is not just another graduate role — it is a rare opportunity to translate your academic success into real-world impact, while laying the foundations for a career in teaching at the highest level.
