Oxbridge Graduate Teaching Intern

"The best teachers begin with a brilliant education. We believe the best teachers also begin here."

One of the UK’s top-performing secondary schools is inviting applications for its prestigious Graduate Teaching Internship Programme, specifically targeting recent Oxbridge graduates with ambitions to become outstanding educators.

This is a one-year, salaried internship, beginning in September 2025, and designed to offer immersive, high-level classroom experience prior to undertaking formal teacher training. It is ideal for high-achieving graduates who are intellectually curious, deeply committed to their subject, and eager to pass on their love of learning to the next generation.

About the School:

Situated in Central London, our school is consistently ranked among the top academic institutions in the UK for both GCSE and A-Level performance. With an outstanding academic reputation, we offer an environment that is intellectually rigorous, culturally rich, and unwaveringly ambitious.

  • Ofsted-rated Outstanding in all categories
  • 94% of students achieved Grades 7–9 at GCSE in 2024
  • 85% of A-Level students achieved A–A grades*
  • Over 25 Oxbridge offers annually across a broad range of subjects
  • A vibrant academic culture rooted in debate, scholarship, and creativity

The school is deeply committed to growing its own teachers and sees this internship as a pipeline for future leaders in education.

About the Internship:

This is not a passive observation-based placement. Their Oxbridge Graduate Interns are trusted as key members of the academic team. You will:

  • Work alongside experienced teachers across KS3 to Sixth Form
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group tutoring, particularly in your subject specialism
  • Assist in leading classroom teaching under guidance from a mentor
  • Support academic enrichment activities such as debating societies, reading groups, and Oxbridge preparation sessions
  • Play an active role in school life, pastoral care, and academic mentoring
  • Gain deep insights into lesson planning, behaviour management, and the inner workings of a high-functioning school

Ideal Candidates:

We are looking for graduates who are:

  • From Oxford or Cambridge (First Class or 2:1 Honours degree)
  • Passionate about education, with long-term teaching ambitions
  • Academically strong in one of the following areas: English, History, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, MFL,RE, Philosophy, or Politics
  • Confident communicators with presence, clarity and empathy
  • Enthusiastic about their subject and eager to instil that passion in others
  • Open to feedback, willing to grow, and serious about a future in teaching

Previous school or tutoring experience is a bonus, but not required — your academic calibre and commitment to education are what matter most.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Up to £30,000 per annum intern salary
  • Structured training and mentoring throughout the academic year
  • Direct access to in-school teacher training pathways for 2026–27
  • Outstanding CPD and professional development
  • A reference and professional network that will open doors across the education sector

If you're an Oxbridge graduate with a mind for academia and a heart for teaching, this is more than just an internship – it's the start of a purpose-driven career.
