Duties:

Team Leader (Powder Coating & Wet Spray)
Location: Uttoxeter, ST14
Shift Pattern: AM Shift - 06:00 to 15:30, Monday to Thursday
Working Hours: 36 hours per week (4-day working week)


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead the Box Team at our clients facility. This role is responsible for overseeing manual powder coating and wet spray operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently met.
You will lead a small, established team comprising a Key Colleague, two Powder Coaters, and one FLT Driver, providing hands-on leadership, guidance, and support across the shift.

Key Responsibilities;
Lead, motivate, and support the Box Team to achieve daily production plans
Oversee manual powder coating and wet spray processes, ensuring quality and efficiency
Maintain high standards of product quality, ensuring all work meets specification
Ensure health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed at all times
Carry out daily start-up checks and ensure equipment is used safely and correctly
Monitor workflow, allocate tasks, and address issues to minimise downtime
Support training, coaching, and development of team members
Work closely with production and management teams to meet business objectives
Record and report production data, quality issues, and near misses
Promote a positive team culture and continuous improvement mindset

Skills & Experience Required;
Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment
Good understanding of manual powder coating and/or wet spray processes
Strong people management and communication skills
Ability to lead by example with a hands-on approach
Strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines


You will ideally have;
FLT licence (desirable)
Experience working in a box or coating team environment
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
