Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school’s budget, financial planning, and reporting processes
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Headteacher and governing body
  • Oversee HR functions including recruitment, payroll, contracts, and personnel management
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, policies, and health & safety requirements
  • Manage facilities, premises, contracts, and external service providers
  • Drive operational efficiency and implement systems that support school improvement
  • Line manage administrative and support staff where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have proven experience as a School Business Manager or within a senior finance/operations role
  • Demonstrate strong financial management and budgeting expertise
  • Be confident working strategically with senior leaders and governors
  • Have knowledge of HR, payroll, compliance, and facilities management
  • Be highly organised, detail-oriented, and solution-focused
  • Communicate effectively and build positive relationships across the school community
  • Be committed to supporting a values-led and child-centred environment
