Procurement Manager | Bolton | Permanent | up to £70,000 DOE | Full-time
Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 12noon
KPI Recruiting have partnered with our long-standing manufacturing client, who are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. If you have experience in leading teams within manufacturing, project-led environments, this may be the right role for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing two members in the Procurement department
- Proactively managing lead times and supplier capacity to ensure raw materials and components arrive in line with manufacturing milestones
- Fully utilising ERP to maintain real-time visibility of order execution, material accuracy and workshop requirements
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers to support major door programmes
- Developing partnership-led agreements to move beyond transactional buying and position the business as a “customer of choice”
- Conducting supplier performance reviews in line with OTIF and quality standards
- Designing and implementing a robust steel supply strategy for UK construction products
- Developing bespoke procurement strategies for large-scale, high-integrity projects
- Working closely with Engineering, Operations and Project Management teams to align procurement with technical specifications and project timelines
- Leading high-value negotiations to deliver commercial value while maintaining quality and compliance
- Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the role
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a procurement leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment delivering major projects
- Strong background in supply chain management across construction or infrastructure sectors, with solid knowledge of the UK steel market
- Confident user of ERP/MRP systems to manage complex inventory and order processes
- Proven ability to develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with large-scale project and production requirements
- Degree-qualified in a relevant business or engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in high-value contract negotiation, risk management and cost control
- Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain long-term, strategic supplier relationships
