Duties:

Production Engineer
Bolton Area

Up to £42,000 DOE

38 hours (Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4pm / Fri 7:30am-1pm)

A long-established engineering and manufacturing company in the Bolton area is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to support ongoing production and continuous improvement activities. The business manufactures precision engineered components supplied to a range of industrial sectors and offers a stable working environment with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and new product introduction.

 

The Role

  • Design and develop jigs and fixtures to support efficient manufacture across milling, turning, and secondary operations.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of tooling and fixtures used across production.
  • Create, edit, and verify CNC programs using common control systems (Fanuc / Siemens / similar).
  • Develop and optimise machining processes for CNC milling and turning operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and improved manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support to resolve technical issues and improve production performance.
  • Train operators and setters on new processes, fixtures, and machining best practices.
  • Work closely with Planning, Design, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Maintain engineering documentation including programs, tool sheets, and process instructions.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Level 3 Mechanical
  • Production / manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience working with lathe and milling machines
  • Practical experience with manufacturing equipment and power tools
  • Good communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor) - (Desirable)
  • Experience within a precision manufacturing environment (Desirable)
