Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant – Newham

Are you a Psychology graduate or final-year Psychology student looking to gain hands-on SEN experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech & Language Therapy, Mental Health, or Social Work?

An Outstanding secondary school in Newham is recruiting 5 Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistants to join its highly regarded SEN and Inclusion team from September.

This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your experience supporting students with additional learning needs while making a genuine impact on young people's educational outcomes.

The Role

As a Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Work with pupils who experience barriers to learning and academic progress
  • Support students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties
  • Assist teachers in delivering inclusive classroom learning
  • Build positive relationships that improve engagement, confidence and attainment
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and the SEN department

What We're Looking For

  • Psychology Graduate (2:2 or above preferred)
  • Final-year Psychology students encouraged to apply
  • Passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Interest in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching or Mental Health careers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and proactive approach
