Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

St Helens (WA10)
£90 - £110 per day
Full-Time | Term Time Only

The Small Moments Matter Most

It's not always the big milestones that change a child's life. Sometimes it's the moment they answer a question they never thought they could. The first time they walk into school smiling. The quiet encouragement from someone who believes in them.

If you're a Psychology graduate who wants to understand how children learn, develop and overcome challenges, this role offers the chance to make those moments happen every day.

A welcoming primary school in the WA10 area of St Helens is looking for a compassionate graduate to become part of its close-knit team, supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days will look the same. You could be:

  • Helping a child build confidence with their reading
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning or emotional needs
  • Delivering engaging one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals
  • Celebrating the little wins that make a big difference

Who You'll Be

You'll thrive in this role if you are:

  • A Psychology graduate with a genuine interest in child development
  • Calm, patient and naturally empathetic
  • Curious about behaviour, learning and wellbeing
  • Someone who enjoys building positive relationships
  • Considering a future in Educational Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, Clinical Psychology or SEND

Experience working with children is welcomed but your attitude, compassion and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Why You'll Love It

  • £90 - £120 per day
  • A school where you'll be valued as part of the team
  • Hands-on experience that employers and postgraduate courses value
  • Ongoing training and support from experienced educators
  • Clear pathways into teacher training and psychology-related careers
  • Every day offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child's confidence and future

Some roles fill your CV. This one helps shape your career.
