Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, term-time position, Monday–Friday
- September 2026 start
- Earn up to £540 per week as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Long-term placement within one welcoming and supportive Liverpool primary school
- Support pupils across both KS1 and KS2
- Excellent experience for graduates considering Educational Psychology, SEN, or wider child-focused careers
- Applicants should hold a 2:1 degree or above in Psychology or a related subject
- Previous experience with children through schools, volunteering, youth work, or similar settings is highly beneficial
- Provide individualised support to pupils with SEN, behavioural, social, or emotional needs
- Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement focused interventions
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally. You could provide one-to-one assistance for children with additional needs or work with small groups to develop confidence, communication, social skills, and resilience.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to see how psychological principles and strategies can be applied within an educational setting. You’ll gain first-hand experience supporting children with a range of needs, while developing transferable skills that can help prepare you for future study or careers within SEN, behaviour, child development, or mental health.
The school is looking for a patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic Psychology graduate who genuinely wants to make a difference to young learners. Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils are essential.
