The Role
As a Russell Group Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers to provide high-quality academic support both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a vital role in helping students achieve excellent outcomes while developing your own classroom practice through ongoing coaching and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across your specialist subject area and the wider curriculum.
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to raise student attainment.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities and resource development.
- Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Encourage confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Support students with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional academic support.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and school leaders.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree from a Russell Group university.
- Strong academic background.
- A genuine ambition to pursue a career in teaching or education.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, resilient and professional approach.
- Previous experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
