An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Scaffolder's Mate / Labourer to join a rapidly expanding company within the renewable energy industry. Working as part of a professional two-person team, you'll help deliver safe access solutions for domestic solar installations across residential properties.

The Role

As a Scaffolder's Mate, you'll support the Scaffolder with the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of domestic scaffolding while ensuring every job is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the erection, alteration and dismantling of domestic scaffolding.
  • Safely pass materials and support scaffold builds.
  • Load, unload and organise scaffold equipment.
  • Carry out manual handling duties.
  • Help maintain vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Support daily safety checks and site preparation.
  • Work at occupied residential properties while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company standards.
  • Leave every site clean, safe and tidy.

 

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Scaffolder's Mate or Scaffolding Labourer.
  • Good understanding of scaffold materials and safe working practices.
  • Comfortable working at height.
  • Physically fit with a strong work ethic.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to working safely.

 

Desirable

  • CISRS Labourer Card.
  • Domestic scaffolding experience.
  • Previous experience supporting roofing, solar or construction projects.

Scaffolder's Mate/Labourer

Join AO's New Solar Installation Team

We're looking for experienced Scaffolder's Mates to support our Scaffolders as we launch our residential solar operation.

You'll be part of a two-man crew delivering domestic scaffolding solutions that allow our Solar Installers to work safely on customer homes.

You'll need previous scaffolding experience, a strong work ethic and the ability to work safely as part of a team.

We'll provide all tools, equipment and ongoing support to help you develop your career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with the erection, alteration and dismantling of domestic scaffolding.
  • Passing materials and supporting scaffold builds safely and efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading scaffold equipment.
  • Maintaining vehicles, equipment and storage areas.
  • Carrying out manual handling duties.
  • Supporting site set up and safety checks.
  • Working at occupied residential properties and representing AO professionally.
  • Following instructions from Scaffolders, Supervisors and Managers.
  • Ensuring work areas are left safe, tidy and secure.

What You'll Need

Essential

  • Previous Scaffolder's Mate experience.
  • Understanding of scaffold components and safe working practices.
  • Comfortable working at height.
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Reliable, hardworking and safety focused.

Desirable

  • CISRS Labourer Card.
  • Experience on domestic scaffolding projects.
  • Experience supporting roofing, solar or construction teams.
