KPI Education is working with an ambitious secondary school in Camden, North London, looking for a talented Science graduate to join its Science department as a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant.

This is an opportunity to do far more than simply observe lessons.

You'll put your degree knowledge to use every day — supporting experiments, tackling GCSE misconceptions, running interventions and helping pupils develop confidence across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

For the right graduate, it could also become the first step towards training as a Science teacher in September 2027.

The Opportunity

• £26,000–£30,000 salary / minimum £550 per week
• Full-time role for the 2026/27 academic year
• Based within a thriving secondary Science department
• Support pupils across KS3 and KS4 Science
• Work closely with GCSE classes and intervention groups
• Potential exposure to A-Level Science within the sixth form
• Lead targeted 1:1 and small-group academic sessions
• Support practical experiments and laboratory lessons
• Work alongside experienced Biology, Chemistry and Physics teachers
• Develop your confidence, communication and classroom presence
• Gain first-hand experience of lesson planning and delivery
• Excellent preparation for a PGCE or school-based teacher training route
• Potential progression into teacher training from September 2027

What Could Your Day Look Like?

One lesson you could be helping Year 9 pupils understand chemical reactions.

Next, you might be working with a small group of Year 11 students who are targeting grades 7–9 in their GCSEs.

Later, you could be supporting a Biology practical, helping a pupil finally understand electricity in Physics or preparing revision materials ahead of an assessment.

No two days will be exactly the same.

You'll work closely with qualified Science teachers while gradually developing the confidence to lead interventions, explain concepts independently and potentially deliver sections of lessons.

This is hands-on classroom experience that allows you to find out whether teaching is the career for you.

A 2:1 or First-Class degree is highly desirable, but your ability to communicate your subject is just as important.

You'll need to be reliable, curious and willing to get involved — whether that's helping with a practical experiment, supporting a struggling pupil or stretching a high-achieving GCSE student.
