Secondary Geography Teacher
Sheffield Secondary School | September 2026 | Permanent / Long-Term

Salary: Main Teacher Pay Scale (M1-M6)

You know the kind of lessons that stick.
The ones where students are fully engaged, asking questions, making links, thinking beyond the textbook.

If that sounds like your classroom, keep reading.

A Sheffield secondary school is looking to appoint a Secondary Geography Teacherahead of September 2026—someone who can bring energy, clarity, and real enthusiasm to the subject. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a school where expectations are rising, systems are strong, and staff are supported to teach well.

This isn’t a role where you’re left to figure things out alone. You’ll be part of a department that shares resources, plans collaboratively, and has a clear vision for what great Geography teaching looks like. From climate change to global development, your lessons will play a key role in broadening students’ understanding of the world.

What you’ll be walking into:

  • A school with clear behaviour systems and consistent routines
  • Supportive leadership that backs its staff
  • A Humanities department that works together and shares best practice
  • Students who respond well to structure, clarity, and engaging teaching

What you’ll be doing:

  • Teaching Geography across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available for the right candidate)
  • Delivering well-structured, engaging lessons that build knowledge over time
  • Encouraging curiosity about the world and developing critical thinking
  • Contributing to a department that is ambitious for its students

What matters most:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography
  • High expectations and the ability to create a focused learning environment
  • A teacher who is consistent, proactive, and keen to develop

This role would suit a qualified teacher looking for a supportive environment with clear systems, strong leadership, and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one. The role is open to both ECTs and experienced geography teachers.
