A progressive and well-supported secondary school in Newcastle is seeking to appoint a talented Science Teacher (Physics Specialism) from September 2026. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers looking to develop their careers within a strong Science faculty.

The Role – Science Teacher (Physics)

You will join an established and collaborative Science department, delivering high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with a clear Physics focus at GCSE level.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, challenging Science lessons with a strong emphasis on Physics
  • Developing pupils’ analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific enquiry
  • Supporting practical investigations and hands-on experimentation
  • Using assessment data effectively to raise attainment and close progress gaps
  • Contributing to enrichment opportunities such as STEM clubs, competitions, and external partnerships

This role offers the opportunity to influence curriculum development and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a degree in Physics or a related Science discipline
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
  • Maintains high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
  • Is reflective, collaborative, and committed to professional growth
  • ECTs with strong potential and experienced teachers seeking progression are both encouraged to apply
