KPI Education is working with a well-established specialist SEN school in Croydon to recruit a talented Speech and Language Therapist to lead and develop therapy provision across the school. This is a senior position within a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary team, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver a high-quality, evidence-informed therapy service for children and young people with autism and complex communication needs.

About the Role

As the lead Speech and Language Therapist, you will take overall responsibility for therapy outcomes across the school. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help drive a cohesive, transdisciplinary approach that enables pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, and build independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the Speech and Language Therapy provision
• Oversee assessment, diagnosis, and intervention planning for students
• Deliver and model high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic practice
• Support, supervise, and develop therapy staff within the team
• Ensure therapy provision aligns with EHCP outcomes and school priorities
• Contribute to whole-school strategy and decision-making processes
• Monitor therapy impact, outcomes, and overall service quality
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider clinical teams
• Liaise effectively with families, external professionals, and stakeholders
• Support governance, reporting, and continuous service development

Person Specification

We are looking for a confident and experienced professional who:

• Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification
• Is registered with HCPC and a member of RCSLT (or equivalent)
• Has substantial experience working with children and young people with SEN (autism desirable)
• Has previous leadership or senior therapy experience
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of neuro-affirming and evidence-based practice
• Has experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
• Possesses excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Is confident in driving service development and improving outcomes
