The Role

As a SEN Teacher in Wakefield, you'll work with pupils across a wide range of needs — including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and complex and profound needs. Who We're Looking For

• A qualified Teacher with QTS (or on track to achieve QTS by September 2026)
• A degree in Education, Psychology, or any subject with relevant SEN experience (2:1 or above preferred)
• Experience working with pupils with SEN, either in a teaching or support capacity — whether in schools, residential care, or youth settings
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach with the resilience to thrive in a demanding but deeply rewarding environment
• Strong skills in differentiation, planning, and adapting the curriculum to meet a wide range of individual needs
• A genuine belief in the potential of every pupil, regardless of their starting point
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to work effectively with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Must have the right to work in the UK
