The role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and organised Stock Controller to join a busy and fast-paced warehouse operation in Crewe.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stock control or warehouse experience who takes pride in maintaining accuracy and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
As a Stock Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels and ensuring all stock movements are recorded correctly. You will work closely with the warehouse and operations teams to identify and resolve discrepancies, carry out regular stock checks and ensure stock is stored and managed efficiently.
Main Duties:
- Ensure all inbound documentation accurately matches operational records, allocating deliveries to the correct locations and promptly resolving any discrepancies to maintain an efficient warehouse flow
- Manage inbound shipments from all supplier types and 3rd Party clients, identifying and escalating any irregularities to the appropriate internal teams when required
- Carry out detailed inventory investigations using WMS systems and internal processes to identify and resolve stock discrepancies, order variances and other inventory-related issues
- Generate, update and maintain accurate inventory reports, ensuring all information is completed to a high standard, prioritised effectively during busy periods and delivered within required timescales
- Complete regular physical stock checks and provide support to the Quality team with PI cycles
- Manage 3rd Party product-specific processes, including inbound stock management, investigations and reporting, ensuring all activities are completed in line with internal procedures
About you:
- Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to identify stock discrepancies and investigate root causes in a methodical and effective manner
- Confident working with numerical data, inventory information and warehouse management systems
- Good technical proficiency is desirable, including experience with Microsoft 365
- Strong experience using WMS and Microsoft Excel is preferred
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to take initiative when resolving stock-related challenges, discrepancies and anomalies
- Able to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing areas of work while meeting operational deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across both data entry and physical stock control activities
- Ability to ensure investigations, reporting and stock processing tasks are completed accurately and within required timescales
