In a borough where history, culture, politics, and belief systems intersect every day, Religious Studies is more than a subject—it is a way of understanding the world.

KPI Education are working with a high-achieving and forward-thinking secondary school in Westminster to appoint a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Religious Studies.

This is a school where ideas matter. Where students question deeply, debate confidently, and explore the big philosophical questions that shape humanity. From ethics and world religions to philosophy and contemporary moral issues, RS is taught with energy, respect, and intellectual curiosity.

We are looking for a teacher who can bring the subject to life.

Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) ready to launch your career or an experienced practitioner seeking a fresh challenge, this is a chance to teach in an environment where your subject is genuinely valued and your voice as a teacher is heard.

The Role

As a Teacher of Religious Studies, you will join a committed Humanities team delivering thought-provoking and academically rigorous lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities for Key Stage 5.

You will be expected to:

  • Deliver engaging, debate-driven RS lessons that challenge and inspire.
  • Encourage students to think critically about philosophy, ethics, and world religions.
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve strong academic outcomes.
  • Promote respectful dialogue, intellectual curiosity, and punctuality in the classroom.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and wider Humanities initiatives.
  • Help students develop confidence in expressing and defending their ideas.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it (ECTs welcome).
  • Has a degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, or a related subject.
  • Brings strong subject knowledge and a passion for ethical and philosophical discussion.
  • Can create engaging, inclusive, and discussion-rich lessons.
  • Has high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and punctuality.
  • Is reflective, ambitious, and committed to professional growth.

Why This School?

  • A vibrant Westminster location at the heart of London’s cultural and academic life.
  • A Humanities department where RS is valued and well-supported.
  • High-achieving, articulate, and curious students.
  • Strong ECT support and structured professional development.
  • A culture of academic excellence combined with genuine staff wellbeing.
  • Excellent transport links across London.

The Opportunity

This is not just another teaching post. It is a chance to help young people make sense of the world they live in—morally, spiritually, and philosophically—within one of London’s most stimulating educational environments.

If you are an inspiring RS teacher ready to make an impact, apply today through KPI Education today.
