Duties:

KPI Recruiting are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join a well-established manufacturing business in Congleton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven supervisory skills who enjoys both leading people and being hands-on in daily operations.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will oversee and support a small team on the shop floor, ensuring targets are met, quality is maintained, and staff are motivated. This position combines people leadership with hands-on production duties such as cable assembly, wiring, and testing.

Job description & about you.

The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and supporting a small production team to ensure daily operations run smoothly. This hands-on role combines leadership with active involvement in production, ensuring that targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and staff are motivated and supported in their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and support production staff on the shop floor.
  • Assist in the training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Monitor workload and allocate tasks to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all work.
  • Be a point of contact between staff and management, communicating updates clearly.
  • Encourage a positive, safe, and supportive working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and suggesting process improvements.
  • Take a hands-on role in production (cable assembly, wiring, testing, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team-leading role.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent communication and people-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Basic understanding of production planning and scheduling.
