KPI Education is working with an Alternative Education provider in Hereford to recruit an enthusiastic Vocational Hair & Beauty Tutor.
We're looking for someone who can bring Hair & Beauty to life through practical learning while providing the mentoring, encouragement and consistency that young people within Alternative Provision need.
You don't just need to be passionate about Hair & Beauty. You need to be passionate about people.
Your Role
You'll create an engaging learning environment where students can develop practical Hair & Beauty skills alongside confidence, communication, independence and employability.
You'll work closely with individual learners, understanding their aspirations and adapting your teaching and coaching approach to help them progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Hair & Beauty sessions
- Creating fun, practical and engaging learning environments
- Developing curriculum materials and schemes of work
- Supporting individual learning and achievement plans
- Tracking learner attendance, progress and outcomes
- Providing constructive feedback and individual coaching
- Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Maintaining the salon, classroom and equipment to a high standard
- Supporting safeguarding and promoting learner welfare
- Completing appropriate learner and compliance documentation
- Supporting progression into further education, training and employment
- Working with colleagues and stakeholders to improve learner outcomes
Could this be you?
You could currently be working as a:
Hairdresser | Beautician | Hair & Beauty Tutor | Vocational Trainer | Assessor | FE Tutor | Salon Professional
Previous teaching experience would certainly be beneficial, but we're particularly interested in candidates who have the industry knowledge, communication skills and personality to engage young people.
You'll need to be organised, approachable and resilient, with the ability to establish clear expectations while creating a positive and supportive environment.
Experience working with young people, vulnerable learners or students within Alternative Provision would be highly advantageous.
