Duties:

Warehouse Operations Manager (Nights)

Location: Stoke -On-Trent

Hours: Monday to Friday (20:30PM-06:00AM)

Salary: Up to £50,000  per annum

The role:

My client is seeking a professional to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring processes are carried out in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. The role focuses on driving continuous improvements across warehousing functions to enhance overall efficiency, streamline operations, and contribute to increased profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all warehouse operations comply with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Work closely with Operations and Transport teams to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
  • Oversee the safe and efficient loading and unloading of Pallet Force vehicles
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers regarding storage solutions and service provision
  • Coordinate inbound container storage and outbound shipment processes
  • Manage pick-and-pack operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Enforce Health & Safety standards across the site, including with visitors and contractors
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within set deadlines
  • Supervise yard activities, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and smooth traffic flow
  • Monitor and document daily forklift inspections
  • Take responsibility for site security at all times
  • Allocate staff effectively to reduce delays and optimise workflow
  • Record and report any damages to cargo or company property promptly
  • Support the ongoing training and development of warehouse staff
  • Ensure systems and records are updated promptly and correctly
  • Work in line with ISO standards and contribute to compliance
  • Manage and approve staff holiday requests while ensuring operational coverage
  • Oversee and coordinate staff shift patterns, including split shifts
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct weekly bay checks and provide updates on outstanding cargo
  • Guarantee that all pick-and-pack contracts are fulfilled on time and in full
  • Lead, motivate, and empower the warehouse team, ensuring clear communication and regular feedback
  • Encourage teamwork, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure staff responsibilities are carried out effectively and in line with business objectives
  • Keep the General Manager updated on operational and staffing matters
  • Respond proactively to daily challenges and remain available for emergency situations

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading teams within a warehouse, stores, or dispatch setting
  • Valid forklift licence/certification
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to liaise effectively with both colleagues and customers
  • Excellent organisational abilities and clear communication skills
  • Collaborative team member with a solid grasp of business objectives and priorities
  • Practical, hands-on approach to daily operations
