Warehouse Operative

Hours of work: 37.5 to 45 hours per week Monday to Friday - Dayshift/Nightshift available

Rate of pay: Days £12.71 / Nights £13.50

Location: Castleford

First Choice are seeking motivated and reliable Warehouse Operatives on behalf of our client, a long established logistics and freight company to join their busy operation based in Castleford. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a similar role. We have vacancies on both dayshift and nightshift.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse
• Manage shipping and receiving processes by accurately processing inbound and outbound shipments
• Use warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, update stock records, and ensure data accuracy
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch with precision and care
• Conduct quality control checks to verify product integrity and compliance with standards

Skills

• Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments
• Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing
• Strong understanding of shipping & receiving protocols and documentation requirements
• Physical ability for heavy lifting, load & unload activities, and standing for extended periods
• Attention to detail for picking & packing accuracy and quality control tasks
