SEN Teaching Assistant

KPI Education are urgently recruiting for a specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary school in Crewe, Cheshire.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for supporting children with various SEN needs – which may include ADHD, Autism and certain behavioural needs. SEN Teaching Assistants are imperative to supporting pupils across the ability range through Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will need to be adaptable and may work 1:1 with a pupil or within small groups.
This role is to join a fast improving school within the Crewe area , with close access from the train station and close to the town centre. The position is full time working Monday to Friday on a long term basis until the end of the academic year. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will build professional relationships, engage with the pupils and make learning both fun and accessible for them, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential. You will have empathy and excellent communication skills.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, some of your daily tasks will include:
- Preparing learning materials
- Adapting teaching support according to student's needs
- Looking after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
- Creating an interesting environment for students
- Keeping records and attend review meetings
- Working with professionals such as speech and language therapists
- Hours of work will be 08.30-15.15
- Level 3 Childcare qualification (not essential)
- SEN experience is essential
- Long term position, on-going until the end of July, 2024
- The possibility of a permanent position from September, 2024
