This school is an exciting and successful secondary school that opened not too long ago and is rated Good by Ofsted. The ambition of their vibrant and energetic team is to transform the lives of all children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many Teachers are Teach First Ambassadors. The school’s vison is to change the world by showing that a child’s home circumstances don’t have to be a barrier to success.
The school is looking for an Art teacher with personality, someone who wants to own their classroom and have vibrant and authentic relationships with their pupils. They want teachers who are conscientious, enjoy being with children and love to see pupils’ success. With a tight behaviour system which allow teachers to be themselves and be as innovative as they like. The Art department is open-minded and driven, and always looking for ways to improve.
At KS3, pupils are taught the traditional techniques of drawing and painting and Art history. Lessons are ‘teacher-led’ as we believe it is the only way pupils can learn the appropriate skills to an expert level. Teachers show pupils exactly how to use each media in-depth step-by-step using the visualizer. There is no ‘guess work’ at Michaela. Pupils get to practice using the same media repeatedly until the technique is mastered and perfected.
If you would like to be considered for this fantastic secondary school and become their new Art Teacher, please email a CV and Cover letter to Ryan at KPI Education.
