Designer – Roofing & Cladding

About the Role
We are working in partnership with a specialist contractor focused on roofing, cladding and façade solutions. The business operates on a wide range of external envelope projects — from large commercial developments to education and leisure projects.

As a Designer, you will play a central role in transforming architectural concepts into detailed, buildable designs for roofing and cladding systems. You’ll work alongside estimators, QSs, and site teams to deliver technically accurate and commercially viable design solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing detailed designs and shop drawings for roofing, cladding and façade systems

• Producing CAD / BIM deliverables for architectural and structural coordination

• Working up buildable details, fixing systems and rainwater solutions

• Liaising with architects, engineers and project stakeholders

• Supporting the estimating team with design input during tender and pre-construction stages

• Reviewing and updating design documentation during construction to reflect as-built changes

• Ensuring that designs comply with industry standards and system manufacturer requirements

• Problem-solving on-site or during design development to optimise installation, cost, and performance

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a façade, roofing or cladding designer / CAD / BIM technician

• Proficiency in CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit) and/or BIM software

• Strong technical understanding of façade systems, cladding materials, and fixing details

• Good communication skills and ability to work with non-design stakeholders

• Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of building regulations, structural coordination and façade performance ideally

• Ability to manage design deadlines and priorities across multiple projects
