Basic Salary £45,000.00

 

Shift Pattern & Work-Life Balance:
This role offers an attractive shift pattern with a 10-day shutdown every month, giving you extended, regular time off. On average, you'll work around 12 days per month, providing an excellent work-life balance. Holiday entitlement is built into the shutdown period, so there's no need to book annual leave separately.

Overtime is available every month and is paid at time and a half, offering the opportunity to increase your earnings if desired.

 

Days Pattern

The day shift is worked on a pattern inclusive of weekends but an average of 35 hours per week, this is a great patter with 10 day breaks and summer / Winter shutdown. 

 

All shift patterns are available upon request. 

 

We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at a well-established paper mill. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a heavy manufacturing environment with modern equipment and long-term stability. We are open to considering either a days-based engineer or a shift engineer, depending on experience and preference.

 

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of all electrical systems across the site. You will work closely with the wider engineering and production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical fault finding and breakdown maintenance on production machinery
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Working with PLCs (fault finding, basic modifications desirable)
  • Maintenance and fault finding on 3-phase motors, inverters/drives, and control systems
  • Working on sensors, relays, contactors, panels, and instrumentation
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, and improvement projects
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served Electrical Engineer / recognised electrical qualification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (paper, FMCG, heavy industry advantageous)
  • Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, drives, and 3-phase systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach and a proactive attitude to maintenance
