Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification

  • Degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or a related field (2:1 or higher preferred).
  • A strong passion for supporting children with additional needs, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or sensory impairments.
  • Calm, compassionate, and adaptable personality with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Previous experience in working with children, SEN support, tutoring, or mentoring is desirable but not essential.
  • Interest in educational psychology, therapy, or teaching as a long-term career goal.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Job Specification

  • Full-time, long-term role offering up to £520 per week.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with a range of additional needs.
  • Help pupils with early development, language acquisition, and social communication skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Use creative and engaging strategies to boost confidence and engagement in learning.
  • Support children awaiting diagnosis for EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans), helping to identify and address their needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
  • Sociable working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
