Maintenance Engineer (4 Day Week) 
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Department: Maintenance
Position: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a permanent position offering stability, a strong team environment, and the opportunity to work with modern manufacturing equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of site machinery, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs on manufacturing machinery

  • Diagnose equipment faults, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions

  • Calibrate and adjust machinery to ensure accuracy and product quality

  • Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery settings align with product specifications

  • Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and calibration records

  • Produce reports on machinery performance, faults, and resolutions

  • Maintain and repair equipment including CNC machines, extrusion lines, and window and door manufacturing machinery

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work

  • Provide technical support and guidance to machine operators

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency

  • Support engineering upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects

About You

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience diagnosing and repairing manufacturing machinery

  • Knowledge of CNC machinery, extrusion processes, or similar production equipment

  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and best practice

  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments

  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently when required
