KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Meat / Seafood Buyer for our client based in Erith.

As a Meat/ Seafood Buyer your working days are:

• 5 out of 7 days per week

The rate of pay as a Meat/ Seafood Buyer is:

• £28,000- £35,000 per annum

The duties and responsibilities as a Meat/ Seafood Buyer are:

• Develop and maintain relationships with a network of reliable meat and seafood suppliers
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible terms and conditions for high- quality meat and seafood products
• Maintain purchasing contracts, pricing agreements, and terms to ensure compliance and cost effectiveness
• Forecast stock levels and place orders accordingly to ensure a consistent supply of ingredients
• Track order delivery status and review customs clearance documents to ensure timely and compliant delivery
• Stay updated on food and customs regulations to ensure all products meet legal requirements
• Communicate with suppliers and internal sales teams regarding product delivery status, quality issues, and sales performance
• Assist in improving product specifications based on market trends and feedback
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager

The ideal candidate for a Meat/ Seafood Buyer will need:

• Proven experience as a Meat/ Seafood Buyer or in a similar procurement role
• Existing network of reliable meat and seafood suppliers
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety and customs regulations
• Ability to forecast inventory needs and manage stock levels
• Detail- oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independetly and as part of a team
