Days Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

South Manchester

43k Base salary plus 5% bonus

Mon - Thursday 07:30 - 16:00

Friday 08:00 - 14:00 (some flexibility with start times)

The Opportunity

We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical bias maintenance engineer to join a leading, state of the art paper manufacturing business in South Manchester. You will oversee all site Mechanical systems - ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while supporting new and ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive repairs to a variety equipment and mechanical systems
• Carry out planned Maintenance activities.
• Minimising downtime and contributing to the achievement of production targets
• Supervision of outside contractors/service engineers and tradesmen as required
• Management of small projects such as equipment installation or staff training
• To develop and implement process improvements 

About You

• Time served Mechanical Engineer from an industrial, process, paper, chemicals, power generation or similar industry.
• You will ideally come from a similar role where continuous improvement is key.
