Do you hold full UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and have real, hands-on experience teaching Religious Education to students in a classroom environment?
Have you graduated with a 2:1 or higher in Religious Education, Theology, or Philosophy – and did your degree truly deepen your understanding of the world’s major faiths, moral philosophy, and the ethical frameworks that shape society?
This RE Teacher role is ideally suited for an experienced and passionate RE Teacher who is confident in delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons and planning high-quality schemes of work across all key stages.
You’ll be more than just a subject specialist—you’ll be an RE Teacher who can create a safe, inclusive space where students feel encouraged to explore, question, and reflect.

RE Teacher – Candidate Specification
As a RE Teacher you should:
- Education: Minimum 2:1 degree in Religious Education, Theology, or Philosophy.
- Teaching Status: Fully qualified with UK QTS.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience teaching RE at secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 a bonus!)
- Skills: Strong classroom management, curriculum planning, and a passion for exploring ethical, moral, and spiritual themes

As a RE Teacher you will be a key member of their humanities Faculty, your key responsibilities include:
- Planning engaging lessons that explore diverse religious traditions, ethics, and philosophical thought
- Assessing and marking students’ work, providing constructive feedback that drives improvement
- Promoting deep discussion and reflection on moral and ethical issues
- Tracking progress and adapting teaching to meet individual student needs
- Preparing students for GCSE and other relevant examinations, ensuring strong subject knowledge and confidence
