Sales Order Processor

Location: Near Leek, Staffordshire

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm


I am currently looking for someone to work with my well-established global firm based near to Leek. You will be working on a 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave, where you will work in the customer service team and will report directly to the Sales and Customer Service Manager. Your role will be to be the main point of contact with customers and suppliers and you will communicate effectively relating to the administrate and fulfilment of orders.

Responsibilities may change over time and as the position evolves. The following list is not intended to be exhaustive and the successful candidate will need to be flexible over the duties performed;

  • Receive sales orders and input data into the SAP computer system accurately and promptly 
  • Maintain good communications with sales managers
  • Process orders and clarify customers’ requirements
  • Ensure orders contain all the elements required and that they are correct
  • Follow up specific items that need to be defined during order processing
  • Liaise with production on their capability to produce the product in accordance with the customer’s needs
  • Agree the customer delivery schedule for the dispatch/collection of product
  • Book transport and agree best price in accordance with company procedures
  • Raise invoices immediately on despatch for all sales orders
  • Channel technical questions to the relevant internal function, collect responses and communicate them to customers
  • Arrange the preparation and despatching of samples requested by customers
  • Handle and report on complaints from customers
  • Work closely with the accounts department to ensure fast and effective exchange of information on every aspect of customer relationship (payment, invoicing, credit items, etc)

In order to become successful with this company, you will possess:

  • Proven experience within a similar administrative position
  • Highly orgnised approach with the ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer literate, including MS Office (essential) and SAP (advantagous)
