The Role – Graduate Learning Support Assistant

  • Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs
  • Help students regulate emotions, develop social skills, and stay engaged in learning
  • Support with behaviour management and personalised social–emotional interventions
  • Assist in adapting lesson activities and learning resources for individual needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to deliver tailored support plans
  • Help foster a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment
  • Support with daily routines and occasional personal care, depending on pupil needs

Person Specification

You MUST:

  • Hold a degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Neuroscience, Education, or a closely related field
  • Have graduated within the last two years

You SHOULD:

  • Have a genuine interest in SEN, child development, or mental health
  • Bring a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people
  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ideally have experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (desirable but not essential)
