Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Contractor
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £80,000 plus package

We’re representing a leading tier-1 main contractor delivering major city-centre developments across the North West. With a strong pipeline of large-scale commercial, residential and mixed-use projects, they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a landmark Manchester scheme.

The Role

• Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you’ll take ownership of key packages on a complex, multi-disciplinary project. You’ll be responsible for cost management, procurement, change control, and reporting, ensuring commercial performance is maintained throughout delivery. The role offers exposure to high-value contracts and the opportunity to work within a dynamic tier-1 project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned packages

• Lead on procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts

• Produce accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts

• Work closely with project, design and operational teams to maintain financial control

• Support the Commercial Manager in managing risk, cash flow and subcontract performance

• Ensure compliance with company and client commercial procedures

About You

• Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS with a tier-1 or major main contractor

• Background in large commercial, residential or mixed-use developments

• Excellent contractual and commercial understanding (JCT or NEC)

• Some exposure to M&E or building services preferred but not essential

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
