About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Trainee Electrical Bias Service Engineer to join our Service & Maintenance team within the Clean Air and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) industry.
Based out of Northampton, you will work across the Midlands region, assisting in the service, maintenance, testing, and installation of clean air systems, LEV equipment, fume extraction, and air filtration units.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an electrical background or qualification who is keen to develop a career in a growing environmental engineering sector. Full training and support toward LEV testing qualifications (e.g., P601/P602) will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the servicing, maintenance, and testing of clean air and LEV systems on customer sites.

Support senior engineers in fault finding, repairs, and calibration of electrical control panels, motors, fans, and monitoring systems.

Perform routine inspections, filter changes, and airflow testing under supervision.

Complete service reports and ensure accurate documentation of work completed.

Work to health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company and site-specific procedures.

Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues to ensure a high level of service delivery.

Participate in in-house and external training programs to develop technical knowledge and achieve industry-recognised qualifications.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
-
Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, ONC, or equivalent).

Good understanding of basic electrical systems, wiring, and fault finding.

Full UK driving licence.

Willingness to travel across the Midlands with occasional overnight stays.

Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and professional development.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
-
Experience in ventilation, HVAC, or air filtration systems.

Familiarity with LEV systems or COSHH regulations.
-
CSCS or ECS card.
-
IPAF / PASMA certifications.
