CAD Designer
Location: Stoke
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £36,000 per annum
The role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative CAD Designer to join our clients’ growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming design concepts into precise technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software, supporting the development and manufacturing of high-quality products. A strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential, along with proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of product concepts from initial artistic visualization through CAD design to CNC programming for the production of casino-related products
- Create and maintain CNC router programs to enable precise manufacturing of component parts
- Translate CAD models into CNC-compatible programs for production execution
- Prepare detailed product specifications and technical data to support Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams
- Collaborate with Technical Services to develop solutions for the installation and display of new or upgraded gaming equipment
- Provide accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and product documentation to aid Sales and Marketing initiatives
- Continuously evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes and materials to improve product quality and operational efficiency
- Update legacy 2D drawings by converting them into 3D models using SolidWorks
- Contribute to the design and ongoing development of existing casino furniture and related products
- Demonstrate a strong passion for product development and a willingness to learn and adopt new skills
- Perform additional duties as required to meet evolving business demands
Key Requirements:
- A qualification in Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, preferably at degree level
- Proficient in SolidWorks, with experience in both CAD and CAM; experience in furniture design is a plus
- A solid understanding of electrical and electronic design or interfaces is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, internally and externally
- Familiarity with quality and environmental standards such as ISO 9001:2012, ISO/TS 16949, and ISO 14001 is desirable
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a cooperative working environment
