Duties:
Credit Controller
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
The role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to manage our clients'credit and collections processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, ensuring timely payments, resolving account queries, and maintaining accurate financial records. Strong communication skills, financial acumen, and experience in credit control or accounts receivable are essential for this role.
Main duties:
- Monitoringand followingup on outstanding customer payments
- Maintainingaccurate and current records for all customer accounts
- Communicatingwith customers regarding due payments, delays, and repayment arrangements
- Respondingto customer inquiries and resolve any payment-related concerns
- Conductingcredit assessments and determiningthe creditworthiness of new clients
- Applyingreceived payments to appropriate customer accounts
- Overseeingthe processing of customer debit notes, keepingrecords updated, coordinating internal approvals, and postingaccordingly
- Collaboratingwith customers to set up manageable repayment plans
- Preparingand presentingreports on credit control activities and debt collection progress
- Carryingout additional similar tasks as assigned by the Line Manager
About you:
- Prior experience in credit control or accounts receivable is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with accounting systems, particularly Agresso, is advantageous
- Must already hold the legal right to reside and work in the UK
- Willingness to accommodate holiday schedules during month-end and year-end reportingperiods
- Confident communicator with effective negotiation capabilities
- Exceptional planning and time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to fine details
- Resilient under pressure with a proven ability to meet critical deadlines
- Competent in using key software tools, including Microsoft Office
- Solid understanding of financial practices and compliance requirements
