General Manager - Global Aerospace Organisation (Lancashire)

KPI Recruiting is proud to be partnered with a world-class aerospace group in the search for an exceptional General Manager to lead one of its flagship UK facilities. This is a rare opportunity to take full P&L ownership of a specialist engineering and MRO operation, driving a multi-year transformation journey toward becoming a truly world-class site.

This role sits at the heart of a high-growth global organisation with a long history of engineering excellence. You will work closely with senior leadership globally, shaping strategy, culture, and operational delivery across a highly regulated and technical environment.

The Role

  • Hold full P&L responsibility for the site and oversee all functions
  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic business and cultural improvement plan
  • Lead senior functional heads, driving accountability, structure, and continuous improvement
  • Build strong customer partnerships and support long-term business development
  • Implement Operating System and long-term CI strategy
  • Shape future workforce capabilities, ensuring the right skills and structure for growth
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Champion safety, quality and operational excellence throughout the facility

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Professional Credentials:

  • Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Business or related field
  • MBA, Chartered Engineer status or Six Sigma Green Belt (highly advantageous)
  • Project Management certification beneficial

Experience Required:

  • Senior leadership with full P&L ownership in engineering/manufacturing
  • Precision or custom engineering operations background
  • Proven track record delivering cultural and organisational transformation
  • Lean manufacturing / CI methodology experience
  • Strong union relationship management
  • Aerospace or MRO experience desirable (not essential)
  • Multi-site leadership exposure is an advantage
