Have you recently graduated with a 1st/2:1 degree in a Maths, English or STEM-based course with the intention of stepping into a career working in education?

Do you want to gain experience working alongside students in a school setting to better understand if teaching is the right fit for you?

Would you thrive in a career where you will utilise the teachings of your degree whilst gaining a completely new skillset from experienced professionals?

We are currently looking for recent talented and enthusiastic graduates to begin their journey into teaching as Graduate Academic School Mentors for an immediate/September 2024 start.

Job Description – Graduate Academic School Mentors

  • x6 Graduate Academic School Mentors – Multiple roles available
  • As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant – earn £465 to £500 per week
  • CORE/STEM subject graduate needed – 1st and 2.1 degrees are preferred
  • Provide educational and pastoral support for students in KS3 and KS4 as a graduate academic school mentor
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm
  • ASAP start and placement for the remainder of this Academic Year/from September 2024
  • Diverse and multi-cultural catchment area
  • Merton – South London

As Graduate Academic School Mentors you will work alongside a team of teachers, providing 1-1 and group support to lower ability students as well as students with behavioural difficulties.

Your main task as Graduate Academic School Mentors will be to encourage students in their studies using your expertise in a specific subject area. Alongside this, you will use your empathetic and engaging personality to aid learners who rely on having a recurring figure to guide them through their time in school.  

Being in a low-income area, the students in this school often require specialised pastoral support to help them strive in their studies. This includes encouraging students whilst in the classroom and offering more personalised support by developing positive relationships.

This means you will be required to not only provide exemplary educational support but also be an empathetic individual who can motivate and inspire as Graduate Academic School Mentors.
