Join us as an English Language Teaching Assistant at a school located in the heart of Northwich!
An opportunity has arisen for a committed English Graduate to join a secondary school in Northwich as a Graduate English Teaching Assistant for the rest of the academic year. The school are looking to boost attainment levels by providing additional support to students who are falling behind their targeted grades for a variety of reasons. This is where you may come in – to work with these students closely and helping them grasp areas of the curriculum that they consistently struggle with.
Northwich is a historic market town best known for its salt production. Situated along the river Weaver, the town's location in Cheshire makes it accessible, and it has good transport links, facilitating connections to nearby cities and regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and delivering lessons.
- Work with small groups or individual students to provide additional support and clarification.
- Help manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to create and prepare educational materials and resources.
- Assist in developing lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Contribute to the creation of engaging and interactive learning materials.
- Provide one-on-one support to students who may need extra help with English language skills.
- Assist students in understanding and completing assignments.
- Offer guidance on reading, writing, and language comprehension.
- Facilitate language development through activities that enhance speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Encourage students to express themselves confidently and articulately.
- Foster a love for literature and language by introducing students to a variety of texts and genres.
- Assist in grading assignments and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Support teachers in assessing and tracking students' progress in English language proficiency.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, an English Teaching Assistant plays a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching educational experience for students.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree (2:1 & above desirable, from a Russell Group University).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the school and its students.
