Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Sheffield Specialist School – Up to £550 per week – Full-Time

A well-regarded specialist SEN school in Sheffield is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. The school provides personalised education for students aged 11–19 with a wide range of additional needs, offering a nurturing and highly supportive environment for both pupils and staff.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with diverse learning profiles, including ASD, ADHD, communication differences, and complex needs. Working both 1:1 and in small groups, you’ll help pupils engage in learning, build emotional regulation skills, and develop confidence in and out of the classroom.

You will receive extensive training—ideal for those aiming to build SEN experience for future postgraduate pathways. Your day-to-day work will involve supporting specialist teachers, helping deliver targeted interventions, and adapting learning materials to help pupils access the curriculum.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Minimum 2:1 degree (Psychology or related subjects beneficial)
  • Empathetic, calm, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in SEN
  • Experience with children, SEN, care, or youth work is desirable
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
