Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of the school, working across different subjects and year groups to support the learning and development of students. You’ll assist teachers in delivering lessons, providing tailored support for students, and ensuring that all learners, including those with additional needs, have the resources and guidance they need to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Classroom Learning: Work closely with students in both individual and small group settings, helping them to engage with the curriculum and grasp key concepts.
- Boosting Student Confidence: Provide extra support to students who need additional help with their studies, focusing on building their confidence and academic skills.
- Behavior Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring all students are focused and supported.
- One-to-One Support: Offer personalized attention to students who may be struggling or need more specific guidance, ensuring they can keep up with the curriculum.
- Tracking and Reporting Progress: Help monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers on academic development and any areas of concern.
- Supporting SEN Students: Provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they can access the curriculum and engage fully with their learning experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Russell Group Graduate: You should have a degree from a Russell Group university with a strong academic background (preferably in English, Maths, Sciences, or any other relevant subject).
- Passionate about Education: A keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education, with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with students and staff, both in person and in writing.
- Proactive and Adaptable: You should be able to take initiative and respond flexibly to the varied needs of students.
- Patient and Empathetic: You should be compassionate, patient, and able to build strong, supportive relationships with students from a range of backgrounds.
