Duties:
Senior Quantity Surveyor – NEC4 Projects
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established RICS Chartered Quantity Surveying practice supporting the delivery of NEC4-driven programmes across nuclear, renewables, water, process, and wider infrastructure sectors. This role offers exposure to large, complex, and high-profile projects, along with strong opportunities to deepen your expertise in NEC4 commercial management.
The Role
You will act as a trusted commercial advisor to project and client teams, taking the lead on contract administration, commercial risk management, cost control, and compensation event assessment. You’ll ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed budgets, contractual obligations, and best-practice commercial processes.
Working closely with delivery teams, contractors, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining transparency and accountability across all commercial activities. The position also offers the opportunity to shape commercial strategy, support continuous improvement, and influence project outcomes through sound commercial judgement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead commercial and contract management activities across NEC4 projects

Prepare, review, and agree compensation events, early warnings, and change documentation

Support forecasting, cost planning, and budget management

Produce accurate and timely commercial reports for client and project stakeholders

Identify risks, opportunities, and value-driven solutions

Ensure commercial procedures align with internal standards and industry best practice

Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the team
About You

Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Strong commercial delivery background, ideally within infrastructure or regulated sectors

Professional membership (or working towards) with RICS, CIPS, or ICE is beneficial

Solid understanding of NEC4 contracts or similar forms, including contract strategy

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Comfortable working on-site with project teams
