An ambitious and well-regarded secondary school in Sutton is seeking to appoint a talented Teacher of English from September 2026. The Role

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates. Experience of A Level teaching is welcomed but not essential.

We are looking for a teacher who will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons

• Inspire a love of reading, writing and literature

• Develop students’ analytical thinking and written communication

• Use assessment effectively to secure strong progress

• Contribute positively to a collaborative and forward-thinking department

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Demonstrate secure subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature

• Have high expectations for achievement and behaviour

• Build strong, consistent relationships with students

• Be reflective and committed to continuous professional development

• Have the right to work in the UK
