Design & Technology Teacher – Candidate Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology, with expertise in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Textiles, or Graphics.
  • Passion for delivering engaging and practical lessons that bring the subject to life.
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inspiring learning environment.
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life.

Design & Technology Teacher – Job Specification

  • Full-time, permanent Design & Technology Teacher role.
  • Paid to Main Teacher Pay Scale - £31,650 - £43,607
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across KS3 and KS4, developing students' practical and theoretical understanding of Design & Technology.
  • Support students in using industry-standard tools, software, and equipment in a well-equipped department.
  • Plan and assess lessons in line with the National Curriculum, ensuring all students are supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Work alongside an experienced and dedicated team, contributing to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and resilience in students through hands-on learning experiences.
