Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant: The Role

The Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant will work within an EYFS, KS1, or KS2 classroom alongside the class teacher, supporting pupils to progress across a range of subject areas.

You will play a pivotal role in boosting pupils’ confidence, ensuring individual needs are met, and helping to create an inclusive, positive learning environment where every child can thrive.

This role is ideal for aspiring primary teachers, educational psychologists, or child psychologists who are seeking valuable experience before progressing onto a PGCE or further professional training.

Location: Oldham, OL9 6AA
Salary: £480–£560 per week (paid weekly)
Working Days: Monday–Friday
Working Hours: 8:00am–3:30pm
Position: Long-term, until the end of the academic year (July 2026)

Ideal Candidate – Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

• A degree in any subject area; Education, Psychology, Early Years, Early Childhood, or other Social Sciences are desirable but not essential
• Enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and development
• A strong communicator with a patient and empathetic nature
• Professional, committed, and proactive
• Must have the right to work in the UK
