Duties:

Production Operator | £27,040 per annum | Rotating Shifts (Days / Noons / Nights) |Permanent

 

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Production Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in a varied, hands-on role across multiple areas of the production process. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing or production experience who is reliable, safety-conscious, and enjoys working as part of a team.

The successful candidate will work on a rotating shift pattern (Days, Noons, Nights) and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production output.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant and production equipment
  • Follow all process and quality procedures at all times, escalating issues when required
  • Reduce product loss and waste through good manufacturing practices
  • Carry out product changeovers including:
    • Completing production paperwork and process documentation
    • Material testing and taking samples for QC checks
    • Machine set-up, operation, and adjustments
  • Conduct clear and structured shift handovers, ensuring work areas are left clean and organised
  • Maintain housekeeping on a "clean as you go" basis throughout the shift
  • Report maintenance issues and improvement suggestions through the correct channels
  • Support site opening and locking procedures depending on shift
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider production team to maintain a safe and productive environment

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or factory environment
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and accurately complete written and numerical records
  • Willingness and flexibility to work rotating shifts:
    • Days: 6am - 2pm
    • Noons: 2pm - 10pm
    • Nights: 10pm - 6am
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift (counterbalance) licence and experience would be an advantage but not essential
